What to Expect
What happens in a group session?
Group sessions typically begin with a brief check-in where participants can share how they're feeling. The facilitator may introduce a topic or activity, and participants are encouraged (but not required) to share their thoughts and experiences. Sessions are structured but flexible, allowing for natural conversation and support.
Do I have to share my personal experiences?
No, you're not required to share anything you're not comfortable with. Many participants find it helpful to listen first and share when they feel ready. You can participate at your own pace and comfort level.
How many people are in each group?
Group sizes vary but typically range from 6-12 participants. This size allows for meaningful interaction while ensuring everyone has the opportunity to participate if they choose.
What if I miss a session?
Life happens! If you miss a session, you can simply join the next one. There's no penalty for missing sessions, though we encourage regular participation for the best experience.
Is group therapy a substitute for individual therapy?
Group sessions can be a valuable complement to individual therapy, but they're not necessarily a substitute. Many people benefit from both individual and group support. If you're unsure, we recommend consulting with one of our doctors to determine the best approach for your needs.
What technology do I need?
You'll need a device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) with a camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and the Zoom app installed. We recommend using headphones for better audio quality and privacy.
